Pray without ceasing

Pray without ceasing

One of the themes coming out of our Forty Hours of Prayer has been for

my people, who are called by my name [to] humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways

2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV

The word used for wicked can mean ‘unpleasant, noxious, health-sapping’. What is it that the Holy Spirit sees in us? What does He know to be noxious and health-sapping within us, that we are completely unaware of. This is not to condemn ourselves but to humble ourselves and ask that we might see what he sees. He loves us too much to leave any uncleanness within us. He will transform unhealthiness into healing!

He urges us to pester Himself to distraction until we see our land healed:

I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.

Isaiah 62:6-7 NIV
