Hold fast to the unchanging Word of God in these troubled times, as we see many organisations and powerful individuals seeking to marginalise Christianity in the market place, and to modify the foundational values of the Gospel. Stand firm on His Word as you witness pressure to accept values, life choices and ideologies as being normal and to be applauded, when the Word of God clearly places such things off that straight and narrow road that leads to life. Jesus said in Matthew 7 v13: “13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Stand up for Biblical values, pray for those who are misled, and don’t be like Elijah, as Paul reminds us in Romans 11: “Don’t you know what Scripture says in the passage about Elijah—how he appealed to God against Israel: 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”? 4 And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.” So pray for Trinity, and call upon the Lord for a godly and upright Rector who will build upon the heritage left by Rev Steve Daughtery, and who will have the courage and anointing to lead our 3 churches into the next phase by being rooted and grounded in the unchanging Word of God.
